Caressa: Pavlovic a top-level defender as Allegri improves Milan's defence

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabio Caressa discussed Milan's victory over Inter in the latest Milan derby and praised the work of Massimiliano Allegri.

He highlighted Allegri's defensive work, saying Pavlovic 'has become a top-level defender' under the Livorno-born coach. Caressa pointed to training and on-pitch work as Allegri's main defensive focus, and noted the coach has helped players who were not yet at international level to progress.

On tactics, Caressa said Milan still need protection, which is why Allegri continues to opt for a low block, though against teams like Inter he can risk a slightly higher centre of gravity. 'When you don't allow Inter to get out with easy passing, they struggle,' he added.
