Carrick urges patience as Mainoo finds his rhythm
Carrick has helped to get Mainoo back on track, and the former Red Devils midfielder believes there is more potential to be unlocked in the homegrown star.
“There’s definitely more to come from him,” Carrick said, noting that at the age and stage Mainoo is just starting out. He added that the experience Mainoo already has in big games and pressured situations will help him continue to learn the game.
Carrick highlighted the value of playing next to Case [Casmiro] and the other players around him, saying Mainoo is picking things up simply by being beside them and that this is part of his journey to develop.
He acknowledged young players have highs and dips, praised Mainoo for finding his rhythm after a spell out, and urged patience so expectations are not placed too heavily on the youngster as he keeps improving.
