Carrie Underwood claps back after being booed on 'American Idol'
Carrie Underwood pushed back after getting boos from the "American Idol" audience during the show’s Hollywood Week: Music City Takeover episode filmed in Nashville. The country star tweeted, "Boo me. I don’t care," while the episode was airing. The reaction came after contestant Mor performed an original song.
Underwood told the crowd, "You guys are gonna boo me. You’re gonna boo me. It’s coming. Bring it on. I love it! Your boos are feeding me," and told Mor, "In a room like this, for you to bring an original song with that incredible band sitting behind you, twiddling their thumbs, I feel like it was a missed opportunity." Fellow judge Luke Bryan stepped in as the crowd booed, saying, "She only won this.
She knows," while Underwood told the audience, "You’re not included in the discussions." The two traded jokes — Underwood asked Bryan, "Why don’t they boo you?" he replied, "I don’t know, I’m trying to get booed," and when she asked the crowd, "You’re not going to boo him?" they did.
