Carson Daly’s History on The Voice: How Long Has He Been the Host?
Carson Daly has hosted The Voice since the Season 1 premiere in 2011 and has been on every episode, giving him a longer tenure than Blake Shelton. He can often be seen standing with artists' families during the Blind Auditions and later introduces the teams as the competition heats up.
From Season 1 through the end of Season 28, Daly hosted 520 episodes and continues to add to that number on Season 29, dubbed The Voice: Battle of Champions. For Season 28 he was given the Carson Callback Card and used it on rocker Ryan Mitchell, who belted Britney Spears and made it onto Team Reba.
Daly has steered clear of performing — when he, Druski, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson went to a karaoke bar ahead of Season 29's premiere he stayed far from the stage and said, "[Performing] is not my job, I’m the host.
