Catanzaro v Modena postponed due to bad weather
The Catanzaro v Modena match, scheduled for the 31st round of Serie B, will not go ahead. Kick-off had been set for Tuesday 17 March at 8 pm at the 'Ceravolo' stadium in Calabria, but the fixture has been postponed because of bad weather.
The mayor of Catanzaro ordered the closure of all public sports facilities within the municipal area for Tuesday after the regional Civil Protection agency issued an alert bulletin warning of continuing adverse weather, including heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms.
Following the municipal order, the Serie B League confirmed the postponement of the match; no new date has been set.
The top-of-the-table clash between Aquilani’s side and Sottil’s side came at a crucial stage of the season, with both teams vying for a play-off place. Catanzaro currently sit fifth, while the Gialloblù trail by five points.
