A death certificate obtained by TMZ confirmed that Catherine O'Hara died from a pulmonary embolism on Jan. 30, with rectal cancer listed as an underlying condition. She was rushed to hospital in the early hours of that morning after what her agency described as a "brief illness." O'Hara was a screen fixture for more than 50 years, from Canadian television to films such as Home Alone and Beetlejuice, and most recently in Seth Rogen's The Studio on Apple TV.

Her final roles included The Last of Us Season 2, which earned her an Emmy nomination, and The Studio, for which she received another nomination. Seth Rogen paid tribute when accepting a Directors Guild Award, saying, "The best part of her is she showed that you can be an utter genius and also the nicest person in the entire world.

Every day, we work very hard to make the show good enough to warrant her time and her presence.
