Catherine O’Hara won the outstanding female actor in a comedy series award at the 2026 SAG Actor Awards, one month after her death. She became the first woman in history to receive a posthumous SAG Actor Award, taking the honor for her work on Apple TV’s The Studio.

The show’s creator, Seth Rogen, accepted the award on her behalf. Rogen delivered an emotional tribute, saying she would have been 'honored to receive the award from her fellow performers.' He remembered her as 'generous, kind and ferocious while never minimizing her own talents,' and recalled, 'She knew she could destroy and she wanted to destroy every day on set.' He urged people to revisit her performances, adding, 'we’re lucky to live in a world where she shared her talent with us.' Actors in the audience were visibly moved, and Jenny Ortega was filmed wiping away tears.

The two-time Emmy winner faced a strong field, including Jean Smart for Hacks, Jenna Ortega for Wednesday, Kristen Wiig for Palm Royale and Kathryn Hahn for The Studio.
