Cbssports reports that nine NFL teams have fired their coaches and one, Mike Tomlin, has stepped down, and the outlet has ranked seven remaining head-coaching vacancies by desirability. At the top is Buffalo, where the Bills fired Sean McDermott after a playoff loss to the Denver Broncos and now offer pairing with Josh Allen — described as arguably the best player at the game's most important position.

Buffalo also brings James Cook (who led the NFL in rushing), a defense that allowed a league-low 156.9 passing yards per game and a new stadium, though the team needs to improve a poor run defense and a thin pass-catching group. Baltimore is second, still centered on Lamar Jackson and supported by Derrick Henry's 1,585 rushing yards in 2025 and defensive pieces such as Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton, with roughly $12.4 million in effective cap space.

Tennessee (third) recently restructured its front office so Mike Borgonzi will oversee the 53-man roster and lead the coaching search, leaving the team with over $105 million in cap space and the No. 4 draft pick. Las Vegas (fourth) offers Brock Bowers, Ashton Jeanty, the No. 1 pick and about $100 million in cap room but faces instability around ownership and limited roster depth, while Pittsburgh (fifth) presents a patient Rooney ownership, a strong defense led by T.J.
