CD Projekt Red's mysterious new IP Hadar enters early pre-production
CD Projekt Red confirmed during its 2025 earnings conference that its shadowy project Hadar has entered preliminary pre-production stages.
The studio first revealed Hadar in 2022 with few details, saying it would be made "entirely from scratch" and that it was still in the "earliest stages of the creative process." The update marks definite progress while the studio continues heavy work on The Witcher 4, with nearly 500 of its 933 developers currently on that RPG.
Co-CEO Michał Nowakowski said the "team has established the foundations of this entirely new IP," and a presentation slide noted the "IP foundations set" as developers are "shifting focus to the game." Nowakowski added: "Now, we are designing specific elements that might be included in the game, creating multiple prototypes and implementing them directly in Unreal Engine."
