Status update: Engadget's CES 2025 Best-of-Show winners ahead of CES 2026
With CES 2026 slated to start next week, Engadget revisited its Best of Show winners from CES 2025 to check which products actually made it to market and which are still pending. ASUS Zenbook A14 impressed on look and build but fell short in performance and value. Engadget awarded it a 78 in review, calling out poor performance and an expensive price tag that kept it from being a Windows rival to the MacBook Air.
BioLite’s Backup home power supply did not ship in 2025. The company is taking reservations for $100, expects final pricing to start around $2,000, and says units will begin shipping this year. Jackery’s XBC curved solar shingles have been delayed but are now expected to go on sale in the US "very soon," with pricing likely between $1,100 and $1,300 per square meter depending on design and purchase options.
Jackery also teased CES 2026 updates on other projects. Lenovo’s Legion Go S arrived first as a Windows 11 model and later as a SteamOS version. The SteamOS handheld earned praise for fast performance, a bright display and an easy-to-use interface. LG’s OLED evo M5 flagship impressed with a 165Hz refresh rate, improved upscaling and a wireless video/audio transmission system.
At about $4,300 it remains expensive, though Engadget noted LG tends to trickle premium features down to cheaper models over time. Moonbird’s Moonbuddy, a screenless meditation and sleep aid for children, is available now and was discounted to $110.42 during an end-of-year sale.
