CES 2026: AI, foldables and odd gadgets debut in Las Vegas
CES 2026 is underway in Las Vegas, with ZDNET reporting live from the show floor as major consumer electronics companies — including Samsung, LG and Hisense — unveil new products and concepts. Organisers and companies at the event emphasised wider AI integration across devices, new display formats and unconventional gadgets.
Announcements covered a broad range: Nvidia introduced its Rubin AI platform and the Vera Rubin Superchip, which the company said is built on a 3nm process with HBM4 memory and is expected to ship in late 2026; Lenovo showed a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 with a repairable "Space Frame" motherboard; Motorola revealed the Razr Fold with an 8.1-inch inner screen, a 50MP rear camera system including a 3x periscope lens, and support for a stylus; and Motorola and Lenovo unveiled Qira, an AI assistant described as a fused knowledge base.
Other highlights included LG’s return of a Wallpaper TV with a 165Hz panel and ultra-thin profile, Narwal and Roborock robot vacuums with advanced mobility and AI features, and several novelty products such as Lava Star’s bone‑conduction Lollipop Star and iPolish’s digital color‑changing press‑on nails.
