White House Down, the 2013 action film that borrows heavily from Die Hard, is now available to stream for free on Tubi. The Roland Emmerich-directed movie pairs Channing Tatum with Jamie Foxx and leans into big, bombastic set pieces rather than subtlety. Tatum plays police officer John Cale, who has just been denied a Secret Service job.

When he takes his daughter on a White House tour he is thrust into the middle of a terrorist plot to capture the President, giving him a second chance at his dream role. The film is wildly unbelievable and knows it, making it well suited to a switch-off, lazy movie night.

Critics were divided on its merits: White House Down holds a 52% Rotten Tomatoes score while the similar Olympus Has Fallen sits at 49%. Regular viewers responded more positively, with audience scores of 62% for White House Down and 66% for Olympus Has Fallen. One five-star viewer wrote, "I love this movie.
