Charli XCX wants to 'quit music' to pursue acting
Charli XCX told Quen Blackwell on Feb. 22 that she hopes to “quit music” and focus on acting. Asked whether she wanted to act more, the pop star replied, “Yes, are you kidding? I want to quit music, babe, and act.” Blackwell noted the singer’s success with her 2024 album “Brat,” which won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2025.
Charli said she’s interested in an “ultimate it-girl ‘Final Destination'” film and mentioned a May 2025 TikTok in which she namechecked Blackwell. In that clip she suggested Rachel Sennott, Alex Consani, Gabbriette, Romy Mars and herself as possible cast members.
She recently starred as a fictionalized version of herself in the mockumentary-style film “The Moment,” released in January, which follows an artist struggling with fame and the demands of the music industry while prepping for an arena tour.
