Most gaming PC deals right now are poor, but one Best Buy offer stands out: an $899 system equipped with an RTX 5060, DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD.

The CPU is a weak point compared with older bargains — six slower cores where past options might have given eight faster ones, and 16 GB of RAM rather than 32 GB. Memory and storage prices have risen, and those earlier deals have largely dried up.

This machine uses an AM5 socket, which provides a clear upgrade path for the CPU, though the motherboard is likely a budget model that may limit upgrades to the mid-range AM5 lineup.

Other options are less compelling: a $790 machine features a mobile Core i5 13420H and lacks an easy upgrade path, and there are still listings like an RX 580 for $625 that offer little value. An RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB PC recently dropped to $1,050 at Best Buy for President's Day but is less upgradeable due to a last-gen 14th Gen Intel CPU.
