Sword Hero is a hyper-ambitious, systems-driven RPG largely created by Csaba "ForestWare" Székely. A Hungarian chef who taught himself to code during the Covid-19 lockdowns, he set out to make an ode to "eurojank," those messy, inventive European cult classics of the 2000s inspired by Gothic, early STALKER and The Witcher 1.

Székely began with little formal background beyond modding Gothic and Dungeon Siege, and has handled programming, art, design and scripting almost entirely on his own. The demo credits list Discord moderators, voice actors and playtesters, while publisher Crytivo has mainly assisted with marketing.

The successful Kickstarter will allow him to hire an artist and a musician, though he cautions that adding team members brings logistical costs and potential vision fractures. The game promises an open world, complex physics interactions, deep character building and combat that aims to combine the weight of FromSoftware duels with the aiming of Jedi Knight.
