Chelsea held to 1-1 by Burnley after Fofana red and late Flemming equaliser
Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at Stamford Bridge after Zian Flemming headed home from a James Ward-Prowse corner in the third minute of added time. Joao Pedro had given the hosts the lead after four minutes, finishing a move that began when Moises Caicedo played a through ball to Pedro Neto.
The match was largely quiet after the break until Wesley Fofana was sent off with around 20 minutes remaining, shown a second yellow for a late challenge on Ward-Prowse after an earlier booking for a foul on Hannibal Mejbri. Reduced to ten men, Chelsea conceded deep into stoppage time; Robert Sanchez had no chance with the equaliser.
Cole Palmer squandered a big chance to make it 2-0 before half-time when Martin Dubravka saved his low drive, and Jacob Bruun Larsen almost won it late for Burnley when his header went narrowly over the bar.
