Chelsea rally from 2-0 down to beat West Ham 3-2 as Todibo is sent off
Chelsea came from two goals down to beat West Ham United 3-2 at Stamford Bridge on 31 January 2026, with Enzo Fernández scoring the 90+2 winner and Jean‑Clair Todibo sent off late in the game.
West Ham led 2-0 at half-time through Jarrod Bowen (7) and Crysencio Summerville (36). Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior made a triple change at the break that included João Pedro and Marc Cucurella.
Wesley Fofana crossed for João Pedro to pull one back (57), Cucurella dove to head the equaliser (70) and João Pedro then set up Fernández for the stoppage-time winner (90+2). The live blog notes this was Chelsea’s first Premier League victory after being two goals down at half-time.
Cucurella praised Chelsea’s “mentality and desire”, saying “If we play always with this energy I think we can win a lot of games.” João Pedro said “we have a strong squad … the team is very young but everyone trusts each other – that is our power.”
The closing minutes turned ugly: the live coverage says Adama Traoré threw Cucurella to the floor, João Pedro confronted Traoré, and Todibo grabbed João Pedro “by the neck”. After a VAR review referee Anthony Taylor showed Todibo a red card; the live blog says a further ban for Todibo is likely but any formal disciplinary action is yet to be decided.
