Chet Hanks stepped out with his mother, Rita Wilson, at a pre-Oscars CAA party on Saturday night, arriving with Hanks walking shortly behind his mother. He wore an all-black suit for the event. Wilson, 69, chose an all-black ensemble of a silk shirt, skirt and cropped blazer.

The "Sleepless in Seattle" star shares Chet, 35, and son Truman, 30, with husband Tom Hanks, 69; Tom is also father to Colin, 48, and E.A., 43, with his ex Samantha Lewes. More than two weeks earlier Hanks said he was stranded in South America after traveling to Puerto Rico for a friend’s birthday and then detouring to Colombia.

He explained he was using a Greek passport because his American passport was about to expire and that airline staff told him using a foreign passport required a green card to return to the U.S., which he did not have. Hanks posted that he had "no f–king idea" what to do and said the only embassy that could help was in Bogota.
