Chloe Kim Wins Silver in 2026 Olympic Snowboard Halfpipe
At the Women's Snowboard Halfpipe Final of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on February 12, Chloe Kim aimed to become the first athlete to win gold in the event at three straight Games. Her boyfriend, NFL superstar Myles Garrett, watched as she took on 11 other finalists at Livigno Snow Park; Kim had first won the title in 2018 and defended it in 2022.
Kim did not claim gold, finishing with the silver medal behind South Korea's Gaon Choi, who took the top spot. Snow fell at the venue and several riders struggled with the conditions, with a number of competitors crashing early in the competition. Each athlete had three runs and the best score counted.
Kim opened with a run worth 88.00 that featured a 720 and a switch double-cork 1080, and she wiped out in her second attempt. Choi delivered a near-flawless third run and was awarded a 90.25, and Kim fell again on her final run, putting the gold out of reach. The 25-year-old is not scheduled to compete in any further events at the 2026 Games.
