Chris Evans' Critically Panned $7.4M Film Finds New Life on Netflix
Honey Don't!, written and directed by Ethan Coen, reunites Chris Evans with Aubrey Plaza and Margaret Qualley. The crime thriller follows a small-town private investigator who probes a string of strange deaths that all lead back to the same church, where Drew Devlin (Evans) serves as the reverend.
Critics and audiences were largely unmoved on release: the film holds 45% from critics and 39% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $7.4 million against a $20 million budget.
After a theatrical run many felt was hampered by weak marketing, Honey Don't! was added to Netflix earlier this week and has quickly become one of the platform’s top 10 movies, climbing the streaming ranks.
For viewers who missed it in theaters, the Netflix launch offers a chance to reassess the film.
