Chris LaCivita, who co-managed President Trump’s 2024 campaign, has settled his libel lawsuit against The Daily Beast. LaCivita sued The Daily Beast in March 2025 over a series of articles by Michael Isikoff that said LaCivita’s consulting firm had been paid $22 million (a figure later corrected to $19.2 million) by the campaign.

In his complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, he said the reporting created the false impression that he was personally profiting excessively and prioritizing personal gain over the campaign, and that the accounts conflicted with Federal Election Commission records.

He sought unspecified damages, saying the articles had cost him income and business opportunities and would take “millions of dollars” to repair his reputation; Mr. Isikoff was not named as a defendant. The two parties reached an agreement on Friday. Under the settlement, LaCivita did not receive any payment or apology, according to The Daily Beast, and an editor’s note was added to the first October 2024 article saying the outlet had “corrected and clarified its reporting concerning compensation associated with Mr.

LaCivita’s work on President Trump’s campaign and removed a related podcast episode that could not be edited,” and that “The parties have now mutually resolved their dispute.” Court filings say the parties paid their own legal costs.
