Chris Pratt’s 8-Episode The Terminal List Is a Perfect Weekend Binge
Before the series returns for Season 2, The Terminal List is worth a weekend revisit. In eight fast-paced episodes Chris Pratt steps well outside his superhero and comedy work as James Reece, a former Navy SEAL who discovers a terminal brain tumor and returns to find his wife and daughter murdered.
Framed and on the run, Reece chases the criminal elements behind a wider conspiracy that exposes political and corporate corruption. Journalist Katie Buranek (Constance Wu) and former teammate Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) help unravel the plot as the show departs from the book in places but stays true to its central mission.
Some critics argued Season 1 could have probed Reece’s psyche more deeply, yet the character fits the trademark action-hero mold and the eight-episode format gives the story room to breathe in ways a film could not.
