Christian Bale Praises Godzilla as Godzilla x Kong Returns to HBO Max

Christian Bale has named Godzilla among his favorite franchises, singling out Shin Godzilla and Legendary’s MonsterVerse.

He is set to return to screens this weekend in The Bride!, written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Bale is four years removed from his last live-action role in the Netflix war movie The Pale Blue Eye.

After Bale’s praise, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire surged back into HBO Max streaming charts in America and ranks among the top 10 movies on VOD platforms like Apple TV. The 2024 blockbuster paired the two titans to take down a dangerous threat.

The next Godzilla x Kong entry is titled Supernova and is scheduled for release on March 26, 2027. Dan Stevens returns as Trapper, joined by Delroy Lindo, Jack O’Connell, Sam Neill, Kaitlyn Dever and Matthew Modine. Grant Sputore directs from a script by Dave Callaham, and plot details are being kept under wraps.
