Christina Applegate says she dumped Brad Pitt for Sebastian Bach

Christina Applegate writes in her memoir You with the Sad Eyes that she abandoned Brad Pitt for Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. She was 17 and says she had invited a 26-year-old Pitt as part of an LA posse that included Johnny Depp, whom she admits she was "in love with for years." Applegate recalls she "had spent all night staring at Bach," and later regretted the move when she learned Bach had a longtime partner and a 1-year-old child; Pitt "didn't talk" to her for many years after driving her mother home and nearly getting into a fight at a gas station.

Applegate says she initially turned down Married...With Children because, she writes, "I hated Kelly Bundy," but she pushed to reshape the role from a "tough biker chick" into what she calls "a full rock slut" after seeing The Decline of Western Civilization: The Metal Years.
