Christina Hodson reported to write DCU Batman film The Brave and the Bold
Polygon reported that industry journalist Jeff Sneider said Christina Hodson has been tapped to write The Brave and the Bold, a planned DCU Batman movie, and that The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news several hours after the article was published.
The article stresses the project is years away and largely theoretical, noting James Gunn wants the non-DCU sequel The Batman Part II to have its moment first and that film has not begun filming. It lists Hodson’s credits as Birds of Prey (called an underrated flop), The Flash (described as an unwatchable mess), the unreleased Batgirl, and the Transformers prequel Bumblebee (described as totally decent), and calls her track record "mixed." The piece also notes Andy Muschietti has already been selected to direct.
The report says fans on X have reacted angrily and questioned why Gunn would reunite the team behind The Flash. It recalls Gunn’s 2023 praise of The Flash as "magnificent film — fun, funny, and emotional," and concludes that whether Hodson is the right choice remains uncertain and that, for now, the situation is largely speculative.
