Sony and Santa Monica Studio announced a remake of the original God of War trilogy during the State of Play presentation last week, and details remain scarce. A since-deleted video posted by YouTuber Fuzhpuzy from Fan Expo Vancouver 2026 shows Christopher Judge — the voice of Kratos in the series’ Norse-era games — saying he will not be playing Kratos in the remakes; original voice actor T.C.

Carson is reprising the role. Judge also said the remakes will include a new "fighting system," though he offered no further specifics. The video has been taken down, but copies have circulated on social media. He told the fan we’ll hear about what he is doing with Santa Monica Studio "late summer," without saying whether that is a new God of War title or an unrelated project.

Judge later posted on his X account suggesting the summer project might not be God of War, writing, "I have zero involvement with the original games and what they involve. Full stop.
