A civil servant who retired five months ago told the Guardian they had not received their pension despite repeated complaints to the Civil Service Pension Scheme (MyCSP).

The Pensions Ombudsman said it needs evidence that MyCSP did not respond to the complaint in order to investigate.

The National Audit Office criticised MyCSP in June after a steep rise in complaints, citing delayed pension valuations and payments among its concerns.

MyCSP ran the scheme on behalf of the Cabinet Office until Capita took over the contract this month. The Cabinet Office told the writer it was waiting for information from their employer, while the employer said that information had been provided weeks earlier.

MyCSP said it delivered high standards of service but did not comment on the writer's case. The backdated pension of £21,300 was paid six days after the writer queried the delay. (PE, Manchester)
