Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wins Game of the Year at GDC Awards
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominated the Game Developers Choice Awards held during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, taking home five prizes. Sandfall Interactive's role-playing game won Game of the Year as well as Best Debut, Best Visual Art, Best Narrative and Best Audio.
Blue Prince, an indie puzzle adventure about exploring the ever-shifting rooms of a sprawling mansion, picked up Best Design and the Innovation Award. Other winners included Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for Best Technology, And Roger as the Audience Award, Consume Me for Social Impact, Don Daglow as the Lifetime Achievement Award winner and Rebecca Ann Heineman (who died in 2025) as the Ambassador Award.
Clair Obscur has now sealed four of the Big Five awards with previous Game of the Year wins at the Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards and the DICE Awards, putting it alongside God of War, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring.
