Collider exclusively shares a new sneak peek showing Claire Foy as Helen meeting a European goshawk in the biographical drama H Is for Hawk, which the report says will soar into theaters on January 23.

In the clip, Helen arrives to pick up the goshawk they arranged to adopt and gets a close-up view of the bird’s fierce expression as it peeks from its box. The man giving away the animal opens the enclosure and welcomes Mabel into his arms; the bird flaps and screeches, and Helen is uneasy trying to get Mabel’s hood on. The handler suggests a "good round of murder" is best to get the hawk under control, but when he realizes he meant to give Helen the other hawk, they insist that Mabel is the one and begin the paperwork to transfer ownership.

Based on Helen Macdonald’s 2014 memoir, the film follows how adopting the goshawk helps Helen navigate the tragic death of their father and reconnect with emotion. Philippa Lowthorpe directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Emma Donoghue and Macdonald; Claire Foy is joined by Brendan Gleeson and Denise Gough, and producers include Lena Headey, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. After its premiere at Telluride the drama earned a 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and H Is for Hawk flies into theaters on January 23.
