Clarity Act could spark stalled crypto markets, JPMorgan says
Crypto markets have lacked conviction, with bitcoin stuck around mid-$60,000, ether trading near $2,000 and volumes across major exchanges thinning. Traders have struggled to find a catalyst strong enough to lift prices, and JPMorgan has identified one: market-structure legislation in the U.S.
called the Clarity Act. Analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou said a potential approval most likely by midyear could serve as a positive catalyst into the second half of the year. They argue that regulatory ambiguity has kept larger investors cautious and that a comprehensive framework spelling out oversight, token classifications and exchange obligations would remove a major overhang.
JPMorgan says clearer rules could give asset managers, pension funds and corporate treasuries the compliance cover to increase allocations, deepening liquidity, compressing volatility and unlocking new products from structured offerings to broader tokenized assets.
