Clicks has expanded its QWERTY phone keyboard concept into a compact power bank accessory that doubles as a full Bluetooth keyboard. The new Power Keyboard combines a 2,150 mAh battery with a slide-out physical keyboard and magnetic attachment, aiming to serve users who want both charging and a tactile input option for phones and other smart devices.

The accessory delivers wireless charging via MagSafe or the newer Qi2 standard. When attached to a compatible phone, it can provide a top-off charge. The integrated battery is also required to operate the keyboard over Bluetooth when the device is not physically connected.

Clicks positions the Power Keyboard as a multitasking accessory. The slide-out keyboard connects over Bluetooth, so it can act as an input device for a phone, tablet, smart TV, or other compatible device even when it is not magnetically attached. The keyboard supports landscape orientation and offers a range of extendable positions to accommodate different phone sizes.

One operational detail Clicks highlights is power management for the keyboard. Jeff Gadway, cofounder and marketing head at Clicks, said users will be able to "protect milliamp-hourage for keyboard usage," a measure intended to prevent a paired phone from draining the battery pack entirely and leaving the keyboard inoperable.

The Power Keyboard follows Clicks’ initial keyboard case for iPhones, which the company introduced at CES 2024. Since that debut, the company has iterated on the concept to bring support for additional phone models, including some Motorola flip phones. The Power Keyboard represents a different take on the idea by separating the keyboard from a fitted case and packaging it with a modest-capacity battery.

Because it is not a dedicated case, the accessory could appeal to users who want a single keyboard to work with multiple devices. It may be particularly useful for people who carry a power bank anyway and want the added convenience of a physical keyboard that can be used across phones and tablets.

Clicks also notes practical advantages for certain device formats. Phones with unconventional folding mechanisms or multipart displays—for example, larger foldables—can be impractical to pair with a keyboard case. A magnetic, standalone keyboard can be used with such devices without requiring a dedicated case for each model.

The Power Keyboard’s 2,150 mAh battery capacity is positioned as a top-off solution rather than a full replacement for a primary charger. Wireless charging support via MagSafe and Qi2 enables contactless power delivery to compatible phones when the keyboard is attached. When the keyboard is used wirelessly over Bluetooth, it consumes charge from its integrated battery.

Beyond phone use, Clicks suggests the keyboard can function as an input for smart TVs or tablets in a pinch. The Bluetooth connection and the option to use the device without physical attachment are central to this flexibility, allowing the keyboard to remain useful across different devices and contexts.

Pricing and availability were announced alongside the product. The Power Keyboard will be sold this spring with a standard price of $109. Preorders open today, and an early bird price is available at $79.

The Power Keyboard continues Clicks’ effort to iterate on the intersection of physical keyboards and modern smartphone design. By combining wireless charging with a detachable keyboard that can work across devices, the company is targeting users who value both portable power and a tactile typing experience outside of dedicated keyboard cases.

Technical details beyond the battery capacity and wireless charging standards have not been disclosed in the announcement. Clicks’ earlier keyboard case work and the company’s stated aim to support multiple device formats provide the primary context for the new accessory’s likely positioning in the market.
