Cole Palmer had his say on the speculation surrounding his future by unveiling a new celebration for the club. He put Chelsea ahead against Wolves, ran to the travelling fans and covered his ears before going on to complete a hat-trick at Molineux. After the disappointment of a Carabao Cup semi-final exit to Arsenal in midweek, Chelsea needed a response to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive.

Palmer delivered, bagging a 38-minute hat-trick in the Midlands, converting twice from the penalty spot and adding a third shortly before half-time. It was a much-needed confidence booster for the England international, who had previously only scored twice from open play in the top flight since January 2025.

The Manchester-born attacker had been linked with a move back to the north of England amid reports he was unsettled in London, missing friends and struggling to keep a positive mindset, with some suggesting Manchester United could make a swoop.
