Collector's Cove: farm on the back of a Lapras-like companion

Collector's Cove centers on filling a Collector's Compendium: grow and gather crops, catch fish, uncover recipes and unlock upgrades to rise through the ranks as a Named-Collector. The loop of collecting and crafting feels familiar to anyone who enjoys farming sims, but the game adds a distinct exploratory bent that evokes Pokemon-style completionism.

Your home and farm sit on the back of a sea-going Fablefin, a Loch Ness Monster–meets–dinosaur creature that immediately brings Lapras and Surf to mind. After meeting Uncle Jerry’s top-hat-wearing Fablefin, Marty, you soon customize and name your own companion — I chose a purple, flower-spotted Lavender — and set sail to new islands to gather resources and fish while tending crops on the move.

Progression ties into the compendium: each crop or fish you log can unlock fertilizer, bait or crafting recipes.
