Colman Domingo Responds After Paris Jackson Distances From Michael

Colman Domingo, who portrays family patriarch Joe Jackson in Antoine Fuqua's Michael biopic, has broken his silence about a public disagreement with Paris Jackson as the film heads into theaters next month.

The tensions began last September when People quoted Domingo saying Paris and her brother Prince were "very much in support" of the Michael biopic. Paris quickly refuted that on Instagram, writing she had "0% involvement" in the production.

She said she had read early drafts and submitted notes on parts she found "dishonest," and asserted those concerns were not addressed, prompting her to distance herself from the project.

The hotly anticipated musical drama opens April 24, 2026, with a runtime of 130 minutes. Antoine Fuqua directs, and the cast includes Jaafar Jackson and Colman Domingo, alongside Kendrick Sampson and others. The screenplay is by John Logan; producers listed include Graham King, John Branca and John McClain.
