PC Gamer reports that Enhanced Animations – 3rd Person Movement is a new mod offering a comprehensive overhaul of third-person movement animations for Fallout: New Vegas.

The mod, apparently the first in a planned series of Enhanced Animation mods, covers general standing movement animations — idle, walking, running, jumping and landing — with directional variants, and adds extra animations for melee attacks and minigun attacks. As Wombat explains, "It covers all general movement animations when standing, which include idle, walking, running, jumping, and landing animations, all with directional variants. There are also some extra animations for melee weapon and minigun attacks, a bit of [a] teaser of what's to come in the future." The update also includes specific tweaks such as making leaning back while holding a minigun look less back-breaking, while melee attack and jump improvements should be more noticeable.

It also includes some bug fixes for animation issues not covered by the earlier 3rd Person Animation Fixpack, which focused on problems like fingers bending at unlikely angles, stutters at the end of animation loops, and characters sliding along the ground when stopping while turning the camera. To install, the mod requires the kNVSE Animation Plugin and the JIP LN NVSE Plugin as prerequisites; once those are installed, you can add Enhanced Animations – 3rd Person Movement.
