Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone is still working on Stardew Valley, with a 1.7 update underway while he also develops Haunted Chocolatier.

He told IGN he expects a few more updates over the next 10 years as he tries to make Stardew Valley 'fully self-actualized' and to 'add almost infinite replayability'.

Barone said he is 'interested in ways to make the game more just infinitely replayable without the use of AI' and added 'That's never going to happen'.

He called the game a 'gold mine' with 'plenty of ideas' but constrained by bandwidth, has said he could 'keep working on the game forever', and has teased updates 'maybe even 50 years from now' while hoping Haunted Chocolatier 'will be out'.
