Conduent data breach grows, affecting at least 25M people
More than 25 million people have had personal data stolen in a spillover from a January 2025 ransomware attack on Conduent, a company that provides printing, mailroom and document and payment processing for state benefit programs and corporate workforce services.
Conduent says its technology and operational support reach more than 100 million people, but the company has offered few details about how the breach happened or how many people are affected. An update to Wisconsin’s data breach notification page shows the incident affects at least 25 million people across the United States.
An ongoing tally of data breach notification letters also totals about 25 million, with Oregon (10.5 million) and Texas (15.4 million) accounting for most of that figure; other notices cover a few hundred thousand people in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Washington.
