Author Michael Connelly announced a new Harry Bosch novel, The Hollow, coming this November that includes a crossover with Mickey Haller. That pairing presents a natural franchise crossover between Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer, but legal rights and ownership complicate any onscreen meeting.

In Connelly's novels, Bosch and Haller are biological half-brothers who share the same father; their connection is revealed in The Brass Verdict, which teams the two characters to solve a Hollywood lawyer’s murder. Bosch already knew of Mickey’s existence, but a relationship never developed after Bosch was placed in the foster care system following his mother’s murder.

Both characters, based in Los Angeles, have crossed over in Connelly’s books for years. Television adaptations have worked around rights by substituting characters. Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer adapted The Brass Verdict but used Detective Griggs as a replacement for Harry Bosch, while Bosch: Legacy Season 2 adapted The Crossing and used Honey Chandler as Mickey Haller’s stand‑in.
