Connor Storrie to Host SNL After Breakout Role in Heated Rivalry
Saturday Night Live returns to New York on February 28, 2026, with Connor Storrie making his hosting debut. He has not publicly performed comedy before, and this will be his first time headlining the live show. Storrie shot to prominence four months after the premiere of the Canadian hockey drama Heated Rivalry.
He plays Ilya Rozanov, a Russian player who falls in love with his Canadian opponent, Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams). Both actors have become widely known, appearing at the Golden Globes, on Tonight Show and Late Night, and carrying the torch at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
For the series, Storrie learned to speak Russian with an authentic accent and to skate like a pro; he told Seth Meyers he even fooled at least one native Russian speaker on set. Those skills may serve him well as he steps into sketch comedy on live television. Mumford & Sons return as the musical guest for their fourth SNL appearance and their first since 2018.
