Consolidation Likely in Crypto Treasury Market, BTCS Executive Says
The crypto treasury market is poised for consolidation this year as companies with operating businesses move to merge with or acquire firms trading below net asset value, Wojciech Kaszycki, chief strategy officer of BTCS, said. Kaszycki noted that operating businesses — such as providing validator services or offering public and private credit instruments — generate cash flow that gives some treasury companies an advantage over peers that only accumulate crypto.
That financial edge, he said, enables them to buy struggling companies whose stock prices sit below the value of their crypto holdings. Crypto treasury firms suffered a market-wide downturn in 2025, with many share prices slipping beneath the value of crypto on their balance sheets.
That decline came before the broader crypto market crash in October.
