At Sony’s State of Play last month, Remedy Entertainment showed new gameplay for Control Resonant. Some viewers compared brief in-game chatter between the main character and an off-screen handler to the viral “Focus, M” meme about contrived AAA dialogue. At a late-February preview event, creative director Mikael Kasurinen, lead gameplay designer Sergey Moho, and communications director Thomas Puha walked journalists through a section of the semi-open-world action RPG, which features aggressive combat and a sizeable slice of New York City to explore.

Thomas Puha said he hadn’t realized the meme existed and noted the team has been busy making the game.
