Corey Parker dies at 60 after cancer battle
Corey Parker has died at the age of 60. His aunt, Emily Parker, said he passed on Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee, following a battle with cancer; the type of cancer has not been disclosed. Parker was known to television audiences for a recurring role as Josh on Will & Grace, appearing in five episodes as Grace’s boyfriend.
He became a recognizable face in the 1980s after playing Pete in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning and later appeared in films such as Biloxi Blues, White Palace and 9 1/2 Weeks. In 1992 he was one of the leads on the short-lived sitcom Flying Blind, portraying recent college graduate Neil Barash opposite Téa Leoni; the series ran one season and featured guest appearances from Lisa Kudrow, Peter Boyle, Andy Dick and Noah Emmerich.
In later years Parker worked as an acting coach, with credits that include a 2022 stint on Disney+’s Ms. Marvel and eight episodes on Sun Records in 2017.
