Cory in the House reviews surge on Metacritic, threatening Expedition 33's top spot

Polygon reports that a wave of user reviews is pushing the 2008 Nintendo DS game Cory in the House up Metacritic’s user rankings, creating a potential challenge to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s position as the site’s highest user-rated game. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 holds a 9.6 user score at the time of writing.

Games listed behind it with 9.3 scores include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Blood and Wine expansion, Metal Gear Solid, and Cory in the House. Cory in the House was a short-lived That's So Raven spinoff that aired from Jan. 2007 to Sept. 2008 and spawned a DS game released in April 2008; the title became a meme in 2013 when 4chan users made it a top-requested FAQ on GameFAQs and it subsequently received a flood of user reviews on Metacritic and Amazon.

Seemingly due to people posting about its user score on Reddit (including a now-deleted post), Cory peaked at number two with a 9.4 score before falling to fifth with a 9.3, alongside Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
