Crane collapses onto train in Nakhon Ratchasima, killing at least 22
A crane fell on a passenger express train in Nakhon Ratchasima province in northeastern Thailand on Wednesday, killing at least 22 people, the police said.
The State Railway of Thailand said on social media the train was carrying 195 passengers when the accident occurred. Col. Thatchapon Chinnawongand, chief of the police station in Sikhio district where the incident happened, said 80 people were injured and that the crane fell from a height of around 65 feet.
Images posted by the State Railway showed emergency workers searching mangled train cars and a large structure under construction above the track.
The cause is under investigation, authorities said. This is a developing story.
