Creator of AI Scott Adams says he is honoring Adams' final wishes
John Arrow, an AI venture capitalist, built a posthumous AI replica of the late cartoonist Scott Adams and is posting AI-generated podcasts that imagine what Adams might say about current events. Each episode costs more than $1,000 to produce, Arrow says, and he describes the project as a tribute that honors Adams' stated wish to be memorialized via AI.
Arrow says he grew up with Dilbert and was a longtime listener of Adams' podcast. He notes that Adams repeatedly declared he wanted his likeness, writing, and recordings used to create an AI after his death, and that Arrow and his brother Zach began work when they learned of Adams' cancer diagnosis and accelerated the project after he died.
He acknowledges the strong emotions the project has provoked and says he has tried to reach Adams' family but was blocked.
