Crime Thriller 'Animal Kingdom' Climbs Netflix Top 10

Shawn Hatosy, who played Andrew 'Pope' Cody in TNT's Animal Kingdom, has seen renewed attention as the series rises to #5 on Netflix's worldwide Top 10 for TV. That surge in visibility comes as Hatosy finds a new audience with HBO Max's The Pitt. The show is an American adaptation of David Michôd's 2010 Australian film, which starred Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, Guy Pearce and Jacki Weaver.

The movie follows 17-year-old Joshua 'J' Cody as he moves in with his grandmother Smurf and her three criminal sons, a situation that explodes into a cold-blooded revenge plot. Running six seasons and 75 episodes, the TNT series expands that premise into a longer narrative and features Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, Daniella Alonso and Molly Gordon alongside Hatosy.
