Crimson Desert's launch has been met with mixed Steam reviews, with frustrations about the hypermanic open world's control scheme and a bafflingly restrictive inventory system. Those complaints did not slow sales: just over 16 hours after its Steam unlock time, Pearl Abyss announced Crimson Desert had sold more than 2 million copies worldwide.

"We are incredibly humbled to share that #CrimsonDesert has sold through 2 million copies worldwide. Thank you so much to our fans, community, and everyone who has joined us in Pywel." The studio added: "We will listen closely to the wide range of feedback shared by the community and work to make improvements quickly, doing our utmost to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players." Pearl Abyss already deployed a small day one patch with minor tweaks and performance improvements, but the most-wanted changes—control scheme redesigns and mapping features—will likely take longer to arrive, assuming they do materialize.

The game does not support Intel Arc GPUs.
