Crimson Desert sells over 2 million copies in less than 24 hours
Crimson Desert, an open-world action-adventure from Pearl Abyss, sold more than 2 million copies in less than 24 hours, the studio said on X.
Pearl Abyss thanked fans and players for joining them in Pywel and said it would listen closely to community feedback and make improvements quickly. The game has already seen fast updates, including the addition of a fast-travel point for the main city that wasn’t present in the review build.
Reception has been mixed: some players praise the game’s sprawling visuals and spectacle, while others have criticized confusing controls and a clunky story. Crimson Desert was originally envisioned as a prequel to the MMO Black Desert Online and spent roughly seven years in development.
