Critical Role Campaign 4 has moved into Dol-Makjar and introduced a table that feels fundamentally different from the Soldiers and Seekers. The season adopted a West Marches–inspired format that splits the 13-player cast into three tables, and the Schemers have been described as focused on "intrigue, espionage, skulduggery, and relationships with each other, NPCs, institutions, and the machinations of power." The table features Murray Mag’Nesson (Marisha Ray), Azune Nayar (Luis Carazo), Bolaire Lathalia (Taliesin Jaffe), and Halandil Fang (Liam O’Brien).

Rather than wandering the wilderness, the Schemers are anchored to the city: Ray has called them "the employed" table. Bolaire is a curator at the Archanade museum’s Lloy Wing, Murray serves as bursar of The Penteveral magic school, Azune is one of Dol-Makjar’s remaining arcane marshals, and Hal works as a theatre director — all roles that keep them tied to urban life and its responsibilities.

That rootedness changes how play advances.
