Cross-country skiing options around Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Within an hour of Jackson, Wyo., nearly 200 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails offer an alternative to the valley’s well-known downhill and backcountry terrain, the outlet reported. Trail Creek Nordic Training Facility, about nine miles from Jackson, has 10 miles of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing and charges a $20 daily fee; the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club trains there, the trails are groomed daily and youth races may be held on weekends.
Abby Warner, executive director of the Jackson Hole Nordic Alliance, said she appreciates the variety of Nordic terrain in the area. Closer to town, the Game Creek Trail is groomed twice weekly for the first 3.3 miles and can offer wildlife sightings such as moose, while the Cache Creek Trail—accessible about a mile east of Jackson’s Town Square—is groomed three times a week for the first 2.5 miles and sees additional grooming on Mondays for its upper two miles.
Emily’s Pond Levee follows a flat, groomed trail of a little more than two miles and is recommended for beginners; the routes are shared by hikers, fat‑tire bikers and dog walkers. About an hour northeast, Turpin Meadow Ranch maintains more than 20 kilometers of groomed loops and charges a $25 day pass, with rentals and lessons available; the ranch also offers lodging and on-site dining.
The Teton Pines Nordic Center, four miles south of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, has about 16 kilometers of groomed trails, lessons and day‑use and rental fees.
